DanmarkDenmark

Sometimes the zeitgeist is best described in arts and music. The danish super act says it all - Denmark is turning international.

The country is opening up to the world and everybody who has a sense of timing is welcoming it.

2010 - the year of the web tablet

Kirpus predicts 2010 will be
the year of the web tablet

The Scandinavian/US magazine publisher Bonnier gives a more detailed idea of the lay out and user interface (UI) with Mag+.

"But what is the fuzz about" - you ask?
If you are a frequent reader of newspapers, magazines, RSS feeds, social media updates or newsletters - this trend is going to include you too. Because this time the content providers are prepared, able and willing to pitch in - like Time Inc [See link].  Time Inc. and others might enter the market with a subscription plan, like 3g and cell net providers. I believe they all learned something from the music & movie industries battle against on-line media.

As blogged about by Buzz Beast the Apple iTablet is just one device to push the market forward. Here you see a picture of the JooJoo tablet (see video links below) and how about  the Microsoft Courier tablet?

Kirpus throws an Google web tablet on top of the others. The  Google tablet will enter the market at a low price and Google OS - with all it's own features, apps and adds.

In 2012 the web tablets will become a mega-trend and the iTablet is going to penetrate and change the market so much faster than the iPod!

You are going to want this, it's only a matter of the price tag.

Give me a choice

After 6 happy years with several iPods I recently bought a pair of Dali 850's (Big speakers) for my high end amplifier and it takes some dynamic range to really make them "dance".
That's when I realized that some of my favorite albums sounded flat and lifeless in hifi; Kings of Leon - Only by the night e.g.

I am pro convenience with iPods and pro HiFi on the big rig. But I wish artists would release two masterings of their studiorecordings and give me a choice between the two listening experiences.
I joined this group for all those who are fed up with the current "Loudness Race" audio mastering practices. Read all abot it in the blog or follow the links and post a shout here  if you agree.

What happened to us?

I have been a paying Last.fm member for almost a year, but now my subscription is ending and I don't know if I want to re-subscribe. Somehow the Last.fm staff where more personal and friendly, back in the days.

The days where you would get an answer and they showed some personality. Like this

But now they send me e-mails like this:

Hi Kirpus69,
Your Last.fm subscription has expired. You can renew it here: http://www.last.fm/subscribe Thanks for trying out our subscription. If you unsubscribed in error, or you'd like to subscribe again, visit http://www.last.fm/subscribe now. Best Regards, The Last.fm Team
(From no-reply@mailer.last.fm - no-reply!?)

What happened Last.fm. Did the record labels bring you down??
I remember the days when you showed us some loving and you could listen to your Last.fm radio on your iPod Touch - in Denmark.

Oh well, rest in corporate peace. I hope the industry gives you what you want. But don't come knocking when you find out it's a nother kind of tough love.

Another casualty to "Friendly Fire"

R.I.P Fabchannel

Once again the record labels have killed a future project, instead of supporting it. You would think that unloyal consumer behavior and lack of attention is the enemy, but it is still fighting technology to the labels.

The social experiment

I started a blog in 2007 to communicate and educate my self on blogging.

"only a few from my family and my generation use the internet interactive."

This blog is on pause

I host to blogs, one for the family and this one for the web community.
This blog is merely thought as my contribution to the web community since i like to voice my opinion and to engage my English speaking friends around the world.

The other one LivetLive is for my family and friends who share interest in Our daily lives. Once in a while I send links to my friends and family to sum up the events and announcements. But I came to realize that only a few from my family and my generation use the internet interactively. Therefore I rarely received online feedback and comments, or let's say, practically none.
That's why my blogs are on pause until I figure out what sort of feedback to expect and how to engage this blog better in the community.

Facebook
Everybody referres to Facebook for feedback and even though I have been hesitant to joint this exclusive forum, I finally gave it a go - as research.
I must admit that I am a bit disappointed with some of the people who drew me in there, since they rarely post anything themselves. But the few friends I have, who are active Facebook members, give great feedback and post fun social content to share.
Even though I thought about quitting my Facebook account in protest of the missing feedback I must admit it is quite addictive. And even though they don't post comments online, some of my friends still give comments face to face. I guess it's alright, although I find it a bit strange and uncomfortable, at times, since face to face is in a totally different environment.

With getting the social media out of the way, I still have some personal interest to blog about, which you can see in my previous posts.
But I have experienced the same thing; people don't comment on your posts, unless you are somehow related. That leaves me with Digg, Last.fm e.g. and that works out just fine, thank you.

The unique
So until I find a unique cause to blog about, I don't see any reason to continue blogging to the invisible digits. But I will be honored to join any blogging forum and pour my wise words all over it, if asked.
Unless my Facebook friends let me down and I start reposting to you, my dear stranger.

Sincerely
Thomas

Out of bounce with Ximeta

Lately I haven't been bouncing to well, since I am experiencing some serious hardware issues, due to my Ximeta Netdisk Wireless.

This has worked as my back up storage, mediaserver, router for a couple of computers.
When it was doing it's job it was excellent, but there has been a lot of headaches getting this piece of ..... to work. Unfortunately I have been too patient with it and now it is nothing but trouble.

Ximeta's support is not doing it's job too good and I am stuck to the few online forums left with answers. It seems as Ximeta shuts downs it's forums every once in a while due to too much negative feedback.

Warning - money to burn and time to waste.
So let this be a warning to you. Do NOT buy this product unless you are a professional in tech with money to burn and time to waste.
