Navigating the Pits of Despair: A Guide to Thriving in a World gone Mad

In today's world, where the news cycle is a relentless conveyor belt of doom and gloom, it's easy to slip into the pits of despair. (Count me in)

You've seen through the veil of what's called "the top of the world" - the ruling class - and recognized the spin, the fakery, and the self-serving agendas. It's disheartening to see those who are supposedly better educated and positioned to lead, instead contributing to a system that feels like it's turning us all into modern-day slaves. But here's the twist: realizing that the elite might be just as flawed, if not more, can paradoxically be a source of comfort. If those with power and resources are messing up on a grand scale, perhaps your personal "messes" aren't as damning as you might think.

The Descent into Despair

When you start to see the world through this lens, it's tempting to throw in the towel. Why bother with honesty and kindness when it seems they lead nowhere? The pervasive cynicism can make you feel like giving up not just on personal growth but on humanity itself. The logical conclusion seems to be to retreat into ignorance, following directives blindly, regardless of their moral implications, just to survive.

Pause and recalibrate

However, this is where we need to pause and recalibrate. Yes, the world might be heading in a direction that feels like hell, but here's the silver lining: if all is lost, you can only win. Here's how you can start:

  1. Reconnect with Reality:
    • Meet Real People: Escape the echo chambers of social media and negative news by interacting with people in real life. There's something profoundly humanizing about face-to-face interactions, where you can see smiles, share laughs, and build genuine connections.
  2. Embrace Honesty and Kindness:
    • Be Genuine: In a world where dishonesty might seem like the norm, choosing truthfulness is not only refreshing but also empowering.
    • Practice Kindness: Small acts of kindness can ripple outwards, creating environments where trust and mutual respect can flourish.
  3. Community Over Competition:
    • Share Wealth and Kindness: Whether it's time, money, or just a listening ear, sharing what you can creates a sense of community. It's a counter-narrative to the greed often seen at the top, showing that there's a different way to be.
  4. Stay Informed, But Balanced:
    • Curate Your News: Instead of consuming all news indiscriminately, choose sources that offer balanced views or focus on solutions rather than just problems.
    • Take Breaks: Regularly step away from digital screens. Engage in activities that feed your soul, be it nature, art, or sports.

Choose kindness and joy

While the so-called elite might be steering us towards despair with their actions, you don't have to follow suit. The narrative that everything is lost is not only defeatist but also untrue. By choosing to live with integrity, kindness, and community, you're not just surviving in a world gone mad; you're thriving. You're proving that even as the world might be spiraling, there's still room for joy, connection, and positive change. Remember, if the world is going to party like it's 1999, let's make sure it's a celebration of the human spirit, not its downfall.

I invite you to The Church of Chill

- because Buddhism is too much of a hassle ;-)

In a world where everyone seems to go mad, go soft. Yes, something is trying to scare us into paranoia, but don't go there, chill.

Don't hate your neighbour, hate the system. Don't fight the system, resist it. Don't resist your fear, talk about it in The Church of Chill. All religions are welcome and you can be your own God, who cares?

It's the end of our world as we know it, just try to stay positive. AI is taking over from here and the animals will wonder where the apes in cars went, that's all.

Join the revolution - CHILL!

25 Struggles Only ENFPs Will Understand (JTI)

I score high as an ENFP in the JTI test - and boy do I know of the struggles on the list in this article!

ENFPs are passion-driven ‘ideas’ people. They gain energy from interacting with the world around them, and become quickly excited over new possibilities. Though ENFPs loves being around people, they crave alone time much more than the average extrovert. ENFPs search for a deeper meaning in just about everything, and use their much-coveted alone time to decide how their experiences fit in with their system of core values.

To be Frank, it’s an exhausting personality to have. Here are a few struggles most ENFPs face.

Shiny happy people - have their shit together

Shiny happy people
*note

Good for them

I used to despise, but now I envy, people who don't need art in their life to be present or emotional stable. I thought that people who only need music to party or dance where spiritually poor, that they were missing out on the essence of the art in music. My prejudice tells me that they are either in some sort of bliss or ignorant. But now I understand that they are not constantly filling their minds with art, because they don't need to. For them, art is an emotional overload - too much emotional information. Good for them.

I understand that most people prefer music they know, music that is validated, music that is safe and social, so that they can focus on things that matter. Like balancing their accounts.. And I think to myself ' Those people must really have their shit together - how come they are not cool?'
Because they don't need to, they got their shit together(!)

Help me write part two
*This is part one of a blog post that I am writing. Part two will be posted later.
Apparently we don't speak the same language and we will probably never understand each other. But why?
I'd love to investigate this further, but i could use a little help here, so feel free to chime in and I'll keep you updated if I ever figure this one out. Until then, think about it, and help me figure this one out by posting your comments below.

How much art can you take?

Really, dude?

Oh, I ♥ The Internet
Two days after I posted the picture above, denAlain from Last.fm noted, that this beautiful guy is the lead singer of Dillinger Four. And from what I get from their profile, he is a true artistic persona.
On their MySpace  page, they listed their genre as 'Christian Rap'! Which makes it all even more appetizing, even though their recent punkrock tracks don't mention Jesus at all ;-P
Looking at the picture below, I have to ask once more ..

Really, dude?
